Shortlisted for Outstanding International Business (SME) at the British Expertise International Awards

We were delighted to be shortlisted for Outstanding International Business (SME) at the British Expertise International Awards, which took place at the Royal Garden Hotel in South Kensington, London on 11th April 2016.

 

The British Expertise International Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding international achievements by companies in the UK professional services sector. Attended by representatives in the fields of architecture, engineering, infrastructure, development and sustainability, the awards have been designed to showcase the wide range of companies working in all sectors served by British Expertise.

 

Secretary of State for International Development, Justine Greening spoke at the event and awards were presented by British Expertise President, His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester.

 

AHI Africa began in 2000 with the purpose of establishing strong distribution channels for the supply of quality branded building materials in sub-Saharan Africa.  AHI roofing are the manufacturers of the Gerard®Roofing brand and are the world leaders in steel roof tile production and technology.

AHI Africa’s unique position in the sub-Saharan Construction Sector places them in an ideal position to bring together local and international expertise, investment, products and finance to support residential construction projects.  This is supported by installer training initiatives to ensure that the clients not only receive good quality products, but also reliable installation.  To date, AHI Africa has trained over 2000 roof installers.

 

In 2014/5, the focus has been to build new distribution channels in Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Angola. Specific construction projects include La Reve Housing Development, Ivory Coast; Zimpeto Shopping Mall, Mozambique and Mussulo Island Project, Angola.

 

 

AHI Africa’s Regional Manager, Joe Collins, added: I’m enormously proud of our team and of the great partners we have across sub-Saharan Africa.  It’s really through their hard work and strategic implementation on the ground that we’ve become the largest branded building products supplier to sub-Saharan Africa.  There’s no short cuts to building successful business in Africa.  Building strong brands and strong channel capability comes about from hard work, perseverance and a strong belief in what you’re doing.
